Just another WordPress weblog

I quit my job last week.  I’ve been a LAMP developer for the past two years for an online dating company, and, well, this sums it up pretty nicely.

Can’t complain about the job I had. I was paid well, I liked the people I worked with, and I learned a ton about scalability. But I can’t say I that have a genuine interest in “online dating”. Sure, I have an interest in using online dating sites, as I’m currently single, but it’s not a field I’m passionate about.

So, I’ve left my job to work on things that I am passionate about, and hopefully make improvements to the current state of available web technology in those areas. And this blog, this blog that is “Just another WordPress weblog” will be a place to narrate my work and narrate my thoughts as I move through the process. I’m definitely gonna have to fix up this blog a bit – change the theme, change the blog title (I don’t plan on sticking with, “Just another WordPress weblog” for long), and deal with all the tagging and SEO stuff. Hopefully it’ll be fun. No matter what, I’m sure it’ll beat working on things that don’t interested me.
